Wolsborn-Drazovich Memorial Math Contest The 2009 Contest will be held between the dates of TBA Contest results by year:

Rules: Each school (grades 7-12) may enter any number of students. This number may, however, be restricted by individual directors due to facilities limitations. Students in grades 11 and 12 will compete in Class A, those in grades 9 and 10 will compete in class B, and 7th and 8th graders will compete separately. School team scores in classes A and B will consist of the sum of the three highest scores from each school in each class. Schools competing with fewer than three students in a class may still vie for individual honors. Each student will work individually on the tests, and the school sponsor(s) will monitor the contestants. No reference materials may be used by the contestants; however, calculators are permissible. A battery of five timed tests will be administered, each to last twenty minutes. The sponsor(s) will distribute, collect and grade the tests. Pencils and scratch paper should be furnished by the school and distributed by the sponsor(s). A charge of two dollars per contestant will be collected from each school to defray contest expenses. Checks should be made payable to "Treasurer - WCTM" and mailed directly to the current treasurer:
Lynne Ipina - Treasurer, WCTM A number of awards are dispensed each year: 1) Trophies to the top team in the state in classes A and B. 2) Trophies to the top team in each district in classes A and B, with medals for the six winners. 3) Three medals for the district winners in each of 7th and 8th grades. 4) Plaques to the top ten individuals in the state in each of class A and B, and to the top five individuals in both 7th and 8th grades. 5) The top individual in class A will receive the Drazovich Trophy, courtesy of the Drazovich family of Rock Springs. Northern Wyoming Community College (Sheridan College and Gillette Campus) is awarding a one year tuition and fees scholarship to the top Class A finisher in each district good at either of their campuses! That is 11 scholarships total! Central Wyoming Community College is also awarding a one year tuition and fees scholarship to the top Class A finisher in each district. That is also 11 scholarships total! Additional awards may be presented at the district level. Here are some of the awards at the district level: For the Torrington District, the top three students in each class will receive either an IPOD, personal DVD player, or MP3 player purchased by Goshen County Schools. EWC will offer a $250 scholarship to EWC! Western WY CC will give out 10 T-shirts to their winners in each division and a one year tuition scholarship at WWCC to their district winner! NWC is offering a one year tuition only scholarship to the top two Class A finishers in the Northwest District! UW is offering a $1000 tuition award to the statewide winner! The Gillette District is offering the following awards: Each of the four divisions will receive the following individual awards: 1st - Mountain Bikes (A & B Divisions) /BMX Bikes (7th & 8th) sponsored by Avalanche Motors, Bank of Gillette, Rio Tinto Energy of America, Western Services, and the Bicycle Shop. 2nd – I-Pods sponsored by Rio Tinto Energy of America and Society of Mining Engineers 3rd – Graphing Calculators sponsored by Society of Mining Engineers & Wal Mart 4th - $50 Savings Bond from First National Bank 5th to 6th – Free Pizza from Godfathers Pizza 7th to 9th – Free Taco from Taco Johns Thank you to Pepsi of Wyoming and Breanna’s Bakery for donating beverages and treats for the sponsor room at the Gillette District!
